Motoretta is the first Bulgarian company that produces electric scooters under its own brand. We started from the Danube city of Rousse, traveled around the world and came back to prove that innovation can also happen in Bulgaria. We officially launched our D1 pilot in August 2016, after hard work on its design and certification.

It all started unexpectedly. One day we were riding other brands' scooters and the next we were riding ours, plus or minus two years in between. What inspired us to do something of our own is that in markets like the Bulgarian one there is a huge gap between price and quality, if you choose one - you compromise with the other, and we didn't want to compromise. We created the Motoretta D1 for ourselves – we wanted it to be safe, beautiful, comfortable, combining everything we needed for urban mobility. With that in mind, we sought to build the optimal configuration needed for the city's needs, nothing more, nothing less. We tested hundreds of components before deciding on the ones that fit our vision of quality at Motoretta. In 2016 we tested the Motoretta D1 at the state motor agency in England, and at the end of 2017 we also passed quality tests in Luxembourg. We continue this process of improvement to this day, because when you do something with love, dedication and for yourself - you do it best!
